Make-Out Monsters
Graphic Design | Art Direction | Game Design
In Make-Out Monsters, players build out their decks to win the affections of a cast of eclectic monsters via pick-up lines, gifts, drinks, and general monsterous debauchery. First player to successfully get their makeout on wins!
Each monster is associated with a different playstyle and has a shop from which players buy cards each turn. Players choose which monsters to apply their affection tokens to, filling up their Make Out Meters. Once a Make Out Meter is full, players score points and get a special card from the monster, the meter resets, and its maximum value increases.

My Roles
Game Design
As part of a team of game designers and the graphic designer, my main role was to bridge the gap between the game design and the physicality of the project being a card game. I made numerous paper prototypes, conducted playtests and iterated on the cards keeping in mind how they worked in the players’ hands, where key information is placed, and making sure they visually fit with the narrative of the game.
